The sermon presents election as absolute, eternal, personal, and gracious rather than conditioned on human merit. Yet election is never separated from its ordained means and evidence: the sanctification of the Spirit, belief in the truth, faith, prayer, and holiness. Properly understood, the doctrine humbles sinners, strengthens believers against opposition, and guards against presumption. The closing appeal assures seeking sinners that they should come to Christ, rest their hope on His cross, and trust that no sincere seeker will be rejected.
